South Shore Charter School (SSCS)  Hull Massachusetts.  SSCS was one of the original charter schools to open in 1995 under the Massachusetts Charter School Law.

Scott W Hamilton

Scott W Hamilton, (former) Massachusetts Department of Education, Associate Commissioner of Education for Charter Schools. Mr. Hamilton left the Massachusetts Department of Eduction early 1999. Scott Hamilton is Managing Director of the Pisces Foundation, a San Francisco-based philanthropy created by the founders of Gap, Inc., Doris and Donald Fisher.

Edward Kirby

Edward Kirby, (former) Acting Massachusetts Department of Education, Associate Commissioner of Education for Charter Schools. Mr. Kirby left the Massachusetts Department of Education around 2000. Kirby two years ago left his post in the Massachusetts charter school office to head up a wing of the Walton foundation. Backed by the enormous profits of Wal-Mart, it has become the country's leading private funder of charter school advocacy groups and individual charter schools.

Timothy Anderson,

Timothy Anderson, (former) South Shore Charter School (SSCS) Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  Mr. Anderson founded SSCS and was it's Headmaster, then CEO, until the SSCS Board of Trustees decided not to renew his employment contract in 1999. [andersonresume.htm]

Diane Ellis Miles

Diane Ellis Miles, (former) SSCS Headmaster. Ms. Miles was the Headmaster of the SSCS secondary school from 1997 untile 1999, when she resigned.

Gregory L. Thornton

Gregory L. Thornton, (former) Chairman, SSCS Board of Trustees. Mr. Thornton was a member of the group that founded SSCS.  Mr. Thornton has been a member of the SSCS Board of Trustees since 1995 Mr. Thornton is employed by "The Boston Globe" were he is a Senior Vice President for Employee Relations and Operations
